Fausto Viana is a set and costume design professor at The School of Communications and Arts at University of São Paulo, in Brazil. He has designed sets and costumes for over 50 productions. As an author, he has published sixteen books on costumes. Together with Professor Isabel Italiano, he has worked on the reconstruction of Brazilian costumes from the 16th to the 19th centuries. Among other topics, his research includes the textiles, ready-made clothes, fashion accessories and their circulation in 18th century Colonial Brazil.
